Catskill, NY — Marc Molinaro released the following statement slamming Ulster County’s proposed income tax surcharge:
“Albany has spent years forcing costly mandates onto counties and local taxpayers, making New York less affordable at every level. Instead of fighting back, Ulster County is playing into the same craziness: raising taxes when it should be fighting to fix the problems driving costs higher. If this comes before me in the State Assembly, I’m voting no.
“New York already taxes too much, spends too much, and drives too many families and businesses away. At some point, they are going to run out of other people’s money because they all moved or have nothing left to give. Instead of creating more taxes, cut the costly mandates, grow the economy, and root out the waste and inefficiency crushing taxpayers.”
