Catskill, NY — Marc Molinaro, candidate for New York’s 102nd Assembly District and 2018 Republican nominee for Governor, released the following statement reacting to the ruling deeming Bruce Blakeman ineligible for public matching funds:
“This is exactly why people don’t trust Albany. Bruce Blakeman starts gaining ground and Democrats suddenly disqualify him based on a secret ‘paperwork’ requirement they never bothered to communicate.
“When Kathy Hochul is sitting on $20 million and the only real challenger gets pushed out of the public financing program, it’s hard not to see this for what it is: a fix designed to protect the governor.”
Background:
Marc Molinaro was elected Mayor of Tivoli at age 19, becoming the youngest mayor in America. He later served in the New York State Assembly, as Dutchess County Executive, and as a member of Congress in New York’s 19th Congressional District. Most recently, he served as Administrator of the Federal Transit Administration. He’s now returning to New York politics and running for the 102nd Assembly District.
He and his wife reside in Catskill and are the proud parents of four children, one of whom lives on the autism spectrum. Informed by his family’s experience, Molinaro founded the Think DIFFERENTLY initiative to support individuals with disabilities.
